Volunteer!
Volunteers are the life blood of all furry events, and we will welcome everyone who chooses to volunteer with open arms.
When applying you’ll be asked if you have any former experience, and how you think your personal skillset would most benefit the market.
Jobs for general volunteers include the below and more:
- Assisting with set up and pack down of the event area
- Helping dealers bump in and out
- Roaming the den to provide assistance to dealers (eg supplying water)
- Assisting attendees if they need help
- Checking badges as people enter the den
- Keeping an eye on the hall to make sure everyone is having a good time and reporting issues to staff if they arrise
Well what do I get for volunteering?
Great question!
While we have grand plans to compensate our volunteers more than fairly in the future, as a new event we don’t quite have the means to do so yet.
What we CAN do is give you free entry and feed you lunch. A few food options will be provided, with volunteer input, so that everyone has something that they can enjoy.
In the future (or if ticket sales allow it during the first year) we plan to provide more benefits to volunteers because without you, events like this just couldn’t run.
We also need to fill the spots for some more specialised team members, but this is also a volunteer role. If you are interested in a core team spot, please state so on your volunteer application and list any skills that you believe make you a good person to fill that spot!
